Dinner, The (2017): We could have done with a bit less of Coogan who struggles in this. There is a strong female cast however and the plot idea has merit.
Leonard Cohen - Live in London (2008): It is all there.
Starred Up (2013): Jack O'Connell (young nutter) and Ben Mendelsohn ( young nutter's dad ) are worth the price of admission. The violence although regular is an integral part of the screenplay.; DVD $29.95 | Blu-Ray $34.95
Finally Sunday (Vivement Dimanche!) (1983): Aka "Confidentially Yours". An old style whodunnit which is given the light treatment.
Saint Amour (2016): It starts out strongly with the best scenes between Benoît Poelvoorde and Gustave Kervern. Most of the road movie segments are also very good but it runs out of steam quite badly and has a problem finding a finish.
Girl Walks Home Alone at Night, A (2014): Shot in beautiful black and white (mainly black) – it would not have worked in colour – with a soundtrack made to measure. The vampire genre has been thrashed to death but I think we can make room for this one.
A Man Apart (2002): Vin Diesel ensures that this does not reach above its station – that of a standard actioner.
Daisies (1966): Although plotless and unpredictable an anti–establishment message comes through even if its in a symbolic way. The two impish performances keep things moving even if they cause a bit of mayhem along the way.
Superfly (2018): Everyone had an automatic weapon so it was probably based on actual events.
Cabin Fever (2002): It doesn't offer anything new.
