A Simple Favour (2018)
A good performance from Anna Kendrick helps maintain the interest in the passable plot.- DVD

Raid, The (The Raid: Redemption) (2011)
The choreography is slick but as with the rest of the screenplay, it has violence as a base. There are few breaks from the violence which soon repeats itself and just gets more and more boring.
Mad Max II - The Road Warrior (Mad Max 2) (1981)
There is something in it for non–action fans – made on a relatively small budget it makes the most of its location and the cheap looking wardrobe and props do the job. It is believably futuristic.
Alien Resurrection (1997)- There isn't a great deal of science fiction but not a bad actioner.
Spy Who Dumped Me, The (2018)- An energetic and very noisy cast try their hardest but the whole point of the plot is that it should repeat what has been done before.
Carlos (Carlos the Jackal) (2010)- Saw the shorter theatrical version – it is disappointing and ironically it is too long.
Post, The (2017)- Its all been done before. The Hanks character was a waste of money as you couldn't tell what he was mumbling about but at least he provided the viewer with some kind of challenge.
We and the I, The (2012)- The fresh faces provide some relief otherwise it is a long and noisy bus ride.

Fall of the House of Usher, The (1960)- Compact storytelling with good looking sets but a Vincent Price (or a Christopher Lee et. al) in the lead makes the difference.
Mandy (2018)- A Christopher Walken smile sends a shiver down my spine. I don't need two hours of noise and special effects.
