Elite Squad: The Enemy Within (Elite Squad 2) (2010)
Yet another drama based on police and political corruption in Brazil. Because of its familiarity, there are no surprises and the screenplay comes across as simplistic.
Mademoiselle Chambon (2009)
There are three fine performances but unless you are a romantic the screenplay starts to drag when things become predictable. The ending has been done before.
Haunted Palace, The (1963)
Corman/Price/Lovecraft is a great combination.
Sunnyboy, The (2013)
It is bittersweet and well worth watching.
I Used to Be Normal - A Boyband Fangirl Story (2017)
The fan of One Direction is on early in this documentary – don't worry stick with it as the musical taste gets better.
Outrage (2010)
Aka "The Battle of the Suits". The characters operate within a hierarchy of violence. The ones at the top of the pile are the ones with the most fingers. The best way to approach this bloodbath is first to guess the body count & then view it as a comedy
Naked Gun 2 1/2: The Smell of Fear (1991)
In my book, Leslie Nielsen is one of the most consistent comedy actors. You would think that the material for this series had been written with him in mind. This sequel is entertainingly silly and it works.
Blank City (2010)
It is a history that deserves to be told.
Happytime Murders, The (2018)
The idea is fine but it tries to shock its audience at times when it didn't need to.
They Came Back (Les Revenants) (2004)
The basic plot idea has a myriad of screenplay possibilities and the one chosen is good but you do feel it has sold itself short.
