Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, The (2018): It is very easy on the eye and undemanding. The period details are spot on.; DVD ~~$20~~ $15
Human Nature (2001): It tries overhard to be different.
Screamers (1995): Never betters its opening scenes but worthy of cult status.
Deception (2008): It has a familiar plot. Ewan McGregor, who in the right part can act very well, is not convincing with his contribution in this one.
Onion Field, The (1979): Up unto the trial scenes, the drama is very good and has the authentic feel to it with James Wood's performance a standout. The screenplay then loses its way, unfortunately – a shame.
Bad Boy Bubby (1994): An original screenplay that after a very strong start struggled to find its ending although more than one opportunity existed. Throughout Nicholas Hope is terrific.
Memoirs Of A Geisha (2005): It is overlong and the screenplay is stodgy. The costumes and the set designs are fine but you need more than that to survive the two hours plus on.
Dark Half, The (1992): It is a great plot idea but the screenplay is very uneven and needed to be more compact.
Colors (1988): The early scenes are fine but it really only repeats itself from then on and doesn't offer anything new.
Swimming Pool (2003): The screenplay doesn't rise to any great heights but Charlotte Rampling has a screen presence and is always worth watching.
