30 Days of Night (2007)
Danny Huston is the best vampire I've seen and the teeth are impressive. However, this genre has been thrashed to death and vampires have become predictable and offer no real suspense after the first course.
Planet of the Apes (2001)
These apes did not have the same appeal as their ancestors.
Paint Your Wagon (1969)
It is overlong but there are some passable comedy segments and some good musical numbers. However, the highlight is Marvin – on the surface a bizarre casting choice but it is his performance that will be remembered most.
Second Chance, A (2014)
The screenplay pushes the limits of credibility.
Prizzi's Honor (1985)
Not all of the screenplay works but there are really good performances from Anjelica Huston and William Hickey plus the interesting supporting cast has stability in the likes of Robert Loggia and John Randolph so it is worth a try.
Leaves of Grass (2009)
Unfortunately, there are two Edward Nortons in this but there is some compensation in the very good supporting actors any one of whom would have been more than capable of reducing the number of Nortons on show by at least one.
Book Club (2018)
I'd like to know how the casting director attracted these four talented performers to take this on.
Leave No Trace (2018)
For the two main characters it is easy to find both sympathy and empathy and this is in no small part due to the performances. I will have no problem re–watching it.
Bob & Carol & Ted & Alice (1969)
A talkie so nothing really happens and the characters are not interesting but other than that it is okay.
Mesrine (Killer Instinct, Public Enemy Number 1) (2008)
Public Enemy: The screenplay is a bit simplistic and thin.
