Random Hearts (1999)
Just because Ford is starring it shouldn't necessarily mean that the screenplay is to exceed two hours.
Fedora (1978)
Having seen the classic "Sunset Blvd." in the last few months it is difficult not to make comparisons and to rate this fairly. However, I thought Fedora only caught fire in parts but when it did it was worth it.
Transit (2018)
The writers seem to have gone out of their way to make the screenplay as complicated as possible. I thought there were a couple of contrivances but that might have been my misunderstanding. However, the writing is fresh & well worth a try.- DVD $29.95
Celeste (2018)
There is some great location shooting, and although it doesn't really compensate for the middling screenplay, it is worth a try.
Elephant Man, The (1980)
It is hard to see the appeal of this film dying. It has an excellent story line, superb photography, realistic set designs, and brilliant casting decisions that stretch deep down through the supporting players.
Scarlet Pimpernel, The (TV Mini-Series) (1982)
Although Anthony Andrews is a bit over the top with the title character it doesn't detract to any great extent. Ian McKellen on the other hand is spot on as are the production values.
Closet, The (Le Placard) (2001)
Although the screenplay is not the strongest it is still a worthy example of a light comedy. The strong cast certainly helps.
Jackie (2012)
I'm a fan of Holly but everything about the screenplay was over familiar.
Still Crazy (1999)
The screenplay was very uneven but it was saved by the dream casting.
Black Moon (1975)
The early scenes were good then the good bits shared the stage with some "I'm not sure what that was about bits". I don't mean that as a criticism because things I don't pick up I'm sure other viewers will & the allegories might not have translated
