WaterWater (2005)Recommended
3 stars (Good Enough) It is a mixture of easy on the eye commercial cinema and political drama. To the credit of the filmmaker, it took courage to make this film and among other things take on religious hypocrisy.
SecretarySecretary (2002)Aro Favourite
4 stars (Very Good) Although Spader gets lead billing this is Maggie's film. She overcomes a nightmare interview & intro to the job which includes situations, whilst enhanced here, might be familiar to many secretaries. The leads are great in this well written screenplay.
Blu-Ray $34.95
Happy Ever AftersHappy Ever Afters (2009)
3 stars (Good Enough) Sally Hawkins has one of those faces that can easily register a range of emotions. Mainly, thanks to her, this good plot idea is entertaining most of the time.
BellbirdBellbird (2019)Recommended
3 stars (Good Enough) Beautifully low key. The relationships between the characters are handled very well.
Finke: There and BackFinke: There and Back (2018)
2 stars (Good Try) It looks like we might have found a use for Australia.
DVD $29.95 | Blu-Ray $34.95
Ben is BackBen is Back (2018)
2 stars (Good Try) I think I've seen this one before.
One Wild MomentOne Wild Moment (2015)
2 stars (Good Try) It has one of the more predictable screenplays.
Grateful Dead Movie, The (1977)
4 stars (Very Good) The band with the greatest name. The concert is excellent and colourful.
Untamed HeartUntamed Heart (1992)
3 stars (Good Enough) It is a pretty good cast but it Marisa who sweeps everyone aside and makes this worthwhile.
Hearts in AtlantisHearts in Atlantis (2001)
3 stars (Good Enough) A growing–up story that captures its period pretty well. The casting of Anthony Hopkins certainly helps as does the easy on the eye photography and soundtrack.
