It is heavy on the ears and sometimes the emotions. The performances from a fine cast (keep your eye on Susan Sarandon's low key performance as one of the less noisy ones) are a highlight.
It was okay but you couldn't at any stage get rid of the feeling that the screenplay was not delivering on its promises. The kid's shiny eyes were a bit corny and looked as if they had come from a cornflakes packet.
The screenplay was a mixture. Patience was needed to wait for the very good things that were just around the corner. The effects & set designs were good & the casting was more than interesting with the bad guys led by Kenneth McMillan stealing the show.
It is a very simple story and because it has a suspense element inherently built into it only a small budget was required. It should also be complimented on the short running time and for its underhanded ending.
