3 stars (Good Enough) I suspect the uncut version of this is stronger than the theatrical version but Pegg and Frost are as usual watchable (either as a single or a double act).
CommunionCommunion (1989)
3 stars (Good Enough) It doesn't all work as well as it could have but at least the screenplay doesn't follow the expected path– whether by design or not I don't know.
Toy Story 3Toy Story 3 (2010)Aro Favourite
4 stars (Very Good) Considering it is the second sequel, and even though it is a Pixar, it is pretty good.
Aviator's Wife, TheAviator's Wife, The (La femme de l'aviateur) (1981)
2 stars (Good Try) Very little happens.
Goldfinch, TheGoldfinch, The (2019)
2 stars (Good Try) The screenplay doesn't go anywhere fast and the characters do not raise the interest level to any great degree.
Escape RoomEscape Room (2019)
2 stars (Good Try) This is one of the better escape room films.
RicochetRicochet (1991)
2 stars (Good Try) Violence, with some of it tasteless, rules the screenplay which finally gives up the ghost and goes off the rails completely. However, the one saving grace is the performance of John Lithgow who is very very believable.
Barbarians at the GateBarbarians at the Gate (1993)
4 stars (Very Good) Unusually for 100 minutes of suits and hairdos, it is very entertaining. The screenplay oozes greed. James Garner is terrific in heading an extremely solid cast. Have a look at yourselves Corporate America.
FleshFlesh (1968)
2 stars (Good Try) The young characters don't do anything which might be the whole point of the screenplay.
Meeting GorbachevMeeting Gorbachev (2018)Recommended
4 stars (Very Good) Well done Werner for capturing on film a person who had a positive impact on modern history.
