A dated propaganda drama with a lovely Hollywood type ending – but having said that it is reasonably well done and there are some good humorous touches.
It is never better than in its first half because the screenplay afterward gets overexcited with itself and goes on longer than needed. Overall however the sci–fi idea is good and the crowd scenes in the clubs and streets are handled very well.
Whilst the screenplay didn't set the place on fire the dance numbers & the excellent performance from Soko did. The set designs looked spot on, & although the lighting was minimal, I assumed this was in the cause of authenticity, & not a cost saver.
SI & S2 – There is nothing wrong with the casting but the screenplay spends too much time in the bedroom – basically if you don't keep moving you get shagged – and it really doesn't develop into anything worthwhile.
There are not many documentaries about 7'6'' basketball players (the average height is about a foot shorter) nor 7'6'' anybody for that matter so it is interesting as well as entertaining.
