The writing is intelligent and so is the shooting location of Venice – how can the canals fail to maintain interest. Some excellent editing also adds value although we could have done without the slow motion shots.
It is a sequel that is better than its original with excellent support casting and some good humorous touches. Unfortunately, it goes on a bit too long for its material.
The material is not too bad and the comedy partners are well assisted by a good supporting cast headed by the great Alison Steadman. The wardrobe will also have its admirers.
Aka "Backtrack". The screenplay is ordinary – the romantic segment between Hopper and Foster just doesn't work – but what maintains the interest is the extremely strong support casting.
Although the screenplay doesn't flow as well as it might it is unquestionably entertaining – on that score I can't see Myers ever being boring. A very good comedy plot idea.
