Kings Go Forth (1958)
A bit dated but bearable.
Photograph (2018)
The low key performance of the two leads is just right. The male patiently surviving onslaughts from his nagging grandmother whilst the female is at all times beautifully non effusive. Soppy romantic screenplay writers can learn a lot from watching this.
Professor and the Madman, The (2019)
Good production values. However, there was a lot of mumbling behind beards and it wasn't that easy to follow the screenplay but because the synopsis sounded interesting I hope to read the book.
Birth (2004)
The screenplay wasn't that interesting – you either believe in reincarnation or you don't. However, there is an excellent adult cast to take you through.
Room on the Broom (2012)
Delightful.
Inside Llewyn Davis (2013)
Some more excellent Cohen screenwriting and music collaboration with T Bone Burnett. The winter scenes are well done and even with an overcoat, it is cold. The casting is spot on with the verbal sparring between Oscar Isaac and John Goodman the highlight.
Fear(s) of the Dark (Fears of the Dark, Peur(s) du noir) (2007)
Whilst the stories are not memorable the animation style is well worth a look.
Tom and Jerry - The Movie (1992)
When released in 1992 it may have had a better chance of success but when compared to animation released in later years it looks pretty basic. A time capsule at best.
Kiki, Love to Love (2016)
This should have trouble finding an audience.
Bicentennial Man (1999)
It is based on a good story but the trick with a story that has only one joke is knowing when to pull the pin.
