Vivarium (2019)
A good premise but after a good start, the screenplay loses its way in the middle stages round about the time the kid appears – although it has a good ending you feel that after doing all the hard work in setting things up it missed the boat.
Orpheus (Orphee) (1949)
A good version of the story is helped by the black and white photography (I don't think colour would have been as effective in displaying the drabness of the underworld). Some haunting drumming, as a soundtrack, is a positive contribution.
Arizona Dream (1991)
The screenplay is a mixture of the very good and segments requiring a bit more patience or another watch. At least commendably the material is original.
Wind, The (2018)
It didn't blow me away I'm afraid.
All is True (2018)
Although the screenplay is stagey, if you can see around Branagh's nose there are some excellent set designs and wardrobe to admire.
Cooler, The (2004)
The plot idea is okay but although Macy and Bello are fine their characters' relationship took up a bit too much screen time and so hindered the momentum of the screenplay.
Bourne Ultimatum, The (2007)
The pacing is very good and as is normal with this kind of actioner there is a good supporting cast.
Rhythm Section, The (2020)
It didn't really strike the right note.
Birdman (Birdman: or The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance) (2014)
The screenplay has some pretty good moments but the highlight is the work of the camera and editing teams.
A Vigilante (2018)
I didn't think it left the well trodden vigilante path but it is worth a try.
