One Battle After Another
Synopsis: A washed-up anti-fascist revolutionary (DiCaprio) ekes out an isolated existence for 16 years in a sad malaise of drugs and alcohol. One of the few constants in his life, is his spirited, teenage daughter. When an obsessive jarhead arch-nemesis (Sean Penn in a comedically OTT turn) tracks him down and comes for the girl, the former activist must get off his arse to face his past.
“a brainy meditation on our dystopian present that's also a whacked-out roller coaster ride.”~Slate
Aroview: Adapted from a 1980's Thomas Pynchon novel, Director P.T. Anderson constructs an impressive, dazzling, and surprisingly funny thriller that is arguably his finest achievement. A percussive score from Radiohead maestro Jonny Greenwood plays like pure paranoia.
