Aro Favourite Make Way for Tomorrow

USA 1937, 92 minutes, B/W
Dir. Leo McCarey
Genres: Classics, Drama

Topics: Late-life, Tearjerker.

Aroview: Frankly, one of the most devastating movies ever made, this long neglected classic served as inspiration for Ozu's revered TOKYO STORY many years later, though is arguably the more severe and heartbreaking of the two.

Victor Moore and Beulah Bondi (both aged with incredible makeup) play an inseparable elderly couple whose largely selfish and indifferent offspring begrudge the fact they have to care for them when their home is foreclosed during the Great Depression.
