Burlesque
Aroview: Christina Aguilera plays a small-town singer transformed into a diva by Cher, the owner of a glamorous L.A. nightclub in this flamboyant backstage musical.
Aguilera has all the right moves but her persona lacks the charisma to cut through the by-the-numbers script and mediocre musical numbers. Costumed to the hilt, the effect is closer to 'Pussycat Dolls'-meets-'Flashdance' than Fosse.

4 stars (Very Good) ~Milana
3 stars (Good Enough) The dancing had plenty of energy, and it made up for the screenplay having too many speaking parts. The only characters that were required were those of Aguilera, Cher the bitchy Bell. and Tucci, who could have represented the males. ~Tubbs
