Aroview: Gary Oldman adds another complex role to one of the most impressive contemporary acting CVs. He brings dimension to a difficult, unlikable role as the cantankerous, deaf composer. It's no AMADEUS, but then unlike Mozart, Beethoven's life was apparently not quite as dramatic as his music.

		- 0 star (Not rated) The long overdue soap opera picture, Hollywood–style, received nevertheless only "mixed" reviews. The (disintegrated) plot is simply beyond belief: It turns out that she is none other than his hated sister–in–law Johanna! ~JohnSpecialK
- 3 stars (Good Enough) Not a particularly flattering view of Beethoven but it is always interesting and there are good performances in particular from Oldman and Krabbe. ~Tubbs
