4 stars (Very Good) Nicholson's already slipping into mannerism at this early stage, but this is a great, bleak and often extremely funny film. Excellent cast, with memorable turns from Black and Susan Anspach (whatever happened to her?). ~HiFi
3 stars (Good Enough) Nicholson hasn't quite reached his I'm bigger than the industry stage but he's still annoying at times. Great support performances make it worthwhile. ~Tubbs
