John Safran's Music Jamboree (TV Series)

Australia 2002, 240 minutes
Rating: [M]
Genres: Television, Comedy, Music

Feat. John Safran

Aroview: The mischievious Australian-Jewish satirist here plunges into the surprisingly weird world of contemporary popular music.

Presenting a range of sometimes jaw-dropping public gags, this has Safran confront record industry bigwigs, wannabes, has-beens and 'enablers' with various uncomfortable questions, parodying stars like Eminem and Beck, and getting various musos to re-record their hits on an eclectic array of ethnic instrumentation. Ultimately, as with JOHN SAFRAN VS. GOD or the best of ALI G, this gets well below the surface of societal hypocrisy, engaging the brain as well as the funny bone. Features ten 24-minute episodes over two discs.
