Helvetica (2006): Lovely and informative. The other Hustwit documentaries (Objectified and Urbanised) are a little broader, and less idiosyncratic than this one; but that is part of its charm.
New York: A Documentary Film (1999-2003): Very much in the Burns family style of documentary, this is a worthwhile watch. Illuminates some great characters and periods in New York's history.
For All Mankind (1989): Using recollections and images from all missions, Al Reinert creates an arc from launch to landing to re–entry, and captures the emotions of the astronauts, and not the science. Just a tad epic. The sound track by Brian Eno and collaborators is also epic.
Civil War, The (The American Civil War) (1989): An education about the scars on the US psyche in 9 episodes. Particularly poignant after the election of a black president.; Blu-Ray $89.95
