4 stars (Very Good) Shooting SMG to fame, this Joss Whedon creation became a pop-culture phenomenon in the 1990s, with wit, sex-appeal, and an alternate teenage vampire universe which is proving successful again in the 2000s (Twilight, Vampire Diaries, True Blood). ~Tom H
