Natural City

Aroview: A stylised high-tech thriller set in 2080 - after global war has destroyed much of civilisation - where an isolated metropolis has developed advanced but problematic cyborg lifeforms.

A police unit is formed to deal with renegade cyborgs who refuse to go 'offline' when their existence is terminated, yet the role is hard for Ji-tae Yoo who seeks to extend the lifespan of a secret cyborg lover. Dubbed the Korean BLADE RUNNER by some, this certainly shares ideas, atmosphere and tone of existential loss, but has its own brooding gravitas, inflected with some impressive martial-arts action. If finally this cannot quite find its way through the thicket of premise and plot, it remains at the very least a visual wonder.
