Containing a playful blending of subversive references, political comment and genuine genre smarts, this promising concept was unfortunately nipped in the bud by the Fox network before a second series could be made.

4 stars (Very Good) With humour, heart, quirkiness and smarts, Firefly is a sci-fi Western set in space. (With Chinese swear-words.) Nathan Fillion plays the Captain, not Adam Baldwin. Though Baldwin's character may disagree... ~Boha

5 stars (Exceptional) What Tom H and Boha said, but I'll give it one more star...a great world to live in for its 14 episodes. The last one, 'Objects in Space', is some kind of small masterpiece. A show that you'd be crazy to miss. Whedon's best, IMHO. ~HiFi
