Paycheck

Aroview: Action-orientated version of a typically complex Phillip K Dick sci-fi story, in which hero Affleck must contend with wiped memories, multiple layers of reality and high-speed gun battles.

Affleck plays a corporate operative whose intelligence gathering involves having his memory wiped so as to avoid future detection. He is invited by an old friend to hack into a government time-travel project, but years later finds reality twisting and bending around him. Dir. Woo injects some virtuoso action flash into a brisk thriller, that refreshingly stays true to Dick's pulp fiction roots.
