Aroview: A robust, state-of-the-art adaptation of British poet Ted Hughes' The Iron Man novella, transposed to small-town Maine in the mid 50s Cold War where a young lad finds and looks after a huge 'alien' robot that's fallen from the stars. Has the timeless feel of a classic parable, grown-ups may even enjoy this more than the kids. With the voices of Jennifer Aniston and Harry Connick Jr.

5 stars (Exceptional) Tragically forgotten by many people it seems. Beautiful and clever satire of cold-war paranoia. Directed by BRAD BIRD ~dr.strangelove
4 stars (Very Good) The Iron Giant follows the incredible adventures of young Hogarth who late one night discovers and befriends an enormous robot that fell from the stars. Magical and moving tale of friendship that'll tug at your heart-strings. ~GenXGirl
5 stars (Exceptional) A bit slow-paced and you have to swoon for 1950s America setting to really hit you, but it's a guileless story with impossibly charming characters. I love the design during the robot rampage. ~Pop&Coffee
