Hairy Bird, The

Aroview: Good-natured meditation on the importance of female-bonding set in a girls prep-school (run by Lynn Redgrave) in 1963, with the moody Gaby Hoffman enduring the 'new-girl' tag, then falling in with various birds of a feather. Mixture of comedy styles, from gross-out humour to agile caricature, adds zest to a well-covered genre.
