Close Encounters of the Third Kind - Special Edition
Aroview: Richard Dreyfuss embodies a working class lineman who is chosen by a higher power for some great purpose. With a head full of ambiguous images and sounds, he drifts away from his mundane life to partake in a pilgrimage towards the lights. Meanwhile, government agents follow a similar trail of clues.
The "Twilight Zone" paranoia is eventually lost in a wash of sentiment, optimism and awe that is undeniably Spielberg.

4 stars (Very Good) Cleverly focuses on humans in the human-alien relationship. ~dr.strangelove
3 stars (Good Enough) The plot idea is very strong and doesn't follow the usual pathways either here on earth or to the skies. The special effects of over 40 years ago can still be admired. Dreyfuss and Garr work well off each other. ~Tubbs
