Mr. Popper's Penguins

Aroview: Jim Carrey grins and bears his way through this good-natured animal farce, about a businessman who inherits six penguins, and promptly rearranges his hectic lifestyle to accommodate them.

Not exactly a return to Carrey's daffier roles from the likes of ACE VENTURA and DUMB AND DUMBER, the comedy he mines here lacks the infectious physicality that he made his name in, though for the kids at least, the cute CG penguins go some way to compensating with their own brand of energetic animal mischief. Based on the popular children's book by Richard and Florence Atwater.
