“A farce of misunderstanding first, body-count nightmare second, and at nearly all times a refreshingly upending horror-comedy. bromance.”~Robert Abele, Los Angeles Times
Aroview: In a delicious reversal of urban legend and horror tropes, two hillbilly friends are mistaken for murderous backwoods rednecks by an archetypal group of vacationing teens.
Possesses in spades what a crowded field of cult wannabes don't - a simple, ingenious premise, a lean script, spot-on casting and deft direction, not to mention a subtext that riffs mercilessly on middle-class prejudice while making explicit what is often implicit in horror films - the 'kids' being less sympathetic than the villains! Fantastic fun.
