Aro Recommended Primary

USA 1960, 60 minutes
Dir. Robert Drew
Rating: [Exempt]
Genres: Documentary / History

Topics: Politics.

Aroview: Landmark documentary captures the charismatic JFK as he contests the Wisconsin Democratic Primary with Hubert Humphrey.

One of the first films of the 'direct cinema' movement this is perhaps a little too good at conveying the sheer drudgery of political campaigning, but as a historical record of the political process this is essential viewing. Shot by future documentary luminaries Robert Leacock and Albert Maysles and edited by D.A. Pennebaker.
