Tintin and the Blue Oranges

France / Spain 1964, 92 minutes
Dir. Philippe Condroyer
In French, Spanish with English subtitles
Genres: Foreign Cinema, Family / Adventure

Aroview: Second live-action version of Herge’s cult boy journalist, this time in pursuit of some valuable ‘blue oranges’ in Valencia, Spain.

As the weaker of two French-made adaptations, the locations aren’t quite as exotic, while the appearance of two new actors in the Haddock and Calculus roles lessens the overall effect. Still, noteworthy as a version of one of Herge’s rarer Tintin adventures.
