A doctor investigates these cases while feuds among the living and dead embroil the village. The slender plot is given distinction by Bava's vertiginous, expressionistic style, all zooms, tracking shots, golden colourations, threatening fogs and decaying landscapes.

4 stars (Very Good) What does that title even mean? Anyway, Fellini ripped this o... I mean paid homage to it in his Toby Dammit segment of Spirits of the Dead so you know it's good. ~Pearce
