Bonnie Parker Story, The

USA 1958, 77 minutes
Dir. William Witney
Rating: [PG]
Genres: Cult, Classics, Suspense/Crime / Girl-centric

Topics: Biopic.

Aroview: Dorothy Provine is sensational in this low-budget telling the story of the tommy-gun toting 1930s gangster Bonnie Parker, pre-dating the Hollywood version of "Bonnie and Clyde" by a decade.

Together with partner Guy (not Clyde!), their crime spree cuts a swath of bodies across the South-West after her husband is sent to jail for life. Following her bloody real-life history, the emphasis here is on the attitude and bitterness of a woman who fights back after years of suffering at the hands of men.
