Aroview: The webbed superhero swings back with a vengeance in this excellent sequel, dir. Raimi winding up the vertiginous action to exhilarating extremes.

Peter Parker (Maguire) is still battling to survive the mundane crises of daily life and catch the attention of nextdoor neighbour Dunst, and has reached the point of throwing away his suit in despair, with his powers seemingly fading. An antagonist soon arrives in the form of meglomaniac scientist Dr Ock (Molina), who has become weirdly fused with an octopus suit which enables him to climb the skyscrapers of Manhattan. Hailed by some as the best superhero film since SUPERMAN, this is sure to leave Marvel Comic fans gratified and the rest splendidly entertained.
