Aroview: Troubling split-portrait of the Serbian psyche, depicting a series of often violent incidents over the course of a single night in Belgrade, guided by the Greek-chorus figure of Nikola Ristanovski. While casual beatings, rape and murder are the order of the night, its the unflinching camera relishing their black-comedy that truly betrays the nihilistic heart of the Balkans.

3 stars (Good Enough) The setting is deliberately bleak - on a cold wet night in a depressed location - the screenplay is played out by characters who are at odds with each other. I only remember one light-hearted scene. It is not uplifting but it is well done. ~Tubbs
