Aroview: One of dir. Malle's finest American films, this period piece uses the soft, boyish charms of Keith Carradine to humanise its slowly-told tale of illicit infatuation set in a New Orleans bordello. Brooke Shields, the teenage object of Carradine's desire, gives probably the performance of her life.
