2 stars (Good Try) The plot idea of gambling addiction v unsympathetic loan shark plus the romantic sub plot of student and professor is old hat. Wahlberg however is believable, Jessica Lange has a great cameo and there is one great scene with the impressive John Goodman. ~Tubbs
