The film's novelty idea peaks about halfway before settling into a breezy investigation (as opposed to interrogation) into the pervasiveness of advertising in American culture, while the front-and-centre style of Spurlock only takes him so far as he uneasily balances loyalty to his sponsors with his propensity for satire.
