Hangover, The
Aroview: Endearingly crude buddy comedy focused around a trio of groomsmen who lose the groom in Las Vegas on his stag night, and must retrace their drunken steps in order to find him.
Stag-comedy specialist dir. Phillips and his narcissistic cast of characters push every boundary in the guys-go-to-Vegas formula to cringe-worthy levels of bad taste, and despite reveling in bad behaviour, there is an unexpected sweetness to the trio that forgives their indulgences. What is most surprising is the expertly woven script, which rockets the trio from one outrageous dilemma to the next with skill normally reserved for high-concept thrillers, and the result is a comedy that is as gripping as it is hilarious.

5 stars (Exceptional) The first comedy to truly make me laugh-out-loud for years, the Hangover was a surprise hit worldwide, shooting Cooper and Galifianakis to fame. With a memory-loss premise, some hilarious scenes and great cameos, this one will keep you well entertained! ~Tom H
4 stars (Very Good) a rarity - a funny american post 1940 comedy ~tubbs
3 stars (Good Enough) Cleverer than usual ‘crude-comedy’, it has a well constructed script, and is solidly crafted and acted. I expected more ‘side splitting’ and cringe-inducing scenes, but it was really no more bad taste than a Farrelly Bros pic. Still, well hungover. ~SteveParkes
