Aroview: The everhot Scarlett Johansson plays an accidental nanny to Mr and Mrs X of that peculiar breed, the Upper East Sider, in this lightly anthropological class comedy-drama.
Based on the tell-all chick lit bestseller of the same name, and brought to screen by the writer-director team behind AMERICAN SPLENDOR, this film features some good (alternately brittle and monstrous) performances from Giamatti and Linney as the employers from hell - and ticks all the right girl-movie boxes, without ever really gripping as a rom-com or biting as an insidery, DEVIL WEARS PRADA-style expose.

2 stars (Good Try) The brat is a bit of a brat especially in the first half but then gets Disneyfied a bit which is no improvement. The film is best when Laura Linney (excellent as usual) & Scarlett J work off each other - the male characters are not really required.~tubbs
