Surf's Up

Aroview: Everybody’s surfin’ in this animated comedy about a group of penguins - among other creatures great and small - who converge on a high-stakes surfing championship.

Verges dangerously on penguin overkill, but is best viewed as a light-hearted and engaging carve-up of surfing movies, with some clever hat tipping to ENDLESS SUMMER and the like. The sprightly voice talents of Shia LaBeouf and Zooey Deschanel only add to its appeal.
