Can She Bake a Cherry Pie?

USA 1983, 90 minutes
Dir. Henry Jaglom
Rating: [M]
Genres: Cult, Drama

Feat. Karen Black

Aroview: Uniquely kooky concoction set around the unpredictable neuroses of a newly single woman (Black), who enters a world of whimsy, crazed encounters and general flakiness.

Shot by a minor master of filmic eccentricity, this arranges its humour and magic with a flirtatious though admittedly frustrating manner. However, Jaglom's touch for the rhythms of New York leave one with a distinctive mood, while the performances are courageous and affecting.
