Nobody Knows Anything!

USA 2003, 88 minutes
Dir. William Tannen
Genres: Comedy

Topics: Showbiz.

Aroview: Twisting the 'indie filmmaking comedy' genre to new extremes, this follows an aspiring director (Ubach) as she decamps to Hollywood to break into the biz.

Intergrated into this standard scenario is a 'documentary style' rollcall of Hollywood luminaries proffering advice and comment, while she finally stumbles across someone willing to bankroll operations: a gangster. Further complicating matters is the story of her own film, which concerns a luckless duo of grocery-store robbers. Cameos include Jeanne Garofalo, Virginia Madsen, Wayne Rogers, Mike Myers, Margaret Cho and Ben Stiller.

Note: the title derives from scriptwriter William Goldman's famous Hollywood dictum about the misguided certainty of advice about filmmaking.
