Aroview: An expert 'special ops' agent (Kilmer) is sucked headfirst into a wild, yet plausible conspiracy involving the kidnapping of the US president's daughter, white slavery and political corruption.

Crackling with Mamet's famed masculine patios and moral edginess, this threatens pastiche at times, but Mamet's cynical vision of American politics gives proceedings an undertow of sober, horrified perception. Something of a return to form for the writer-director(THE SPANISH PRISONER), providing perhaps his most 'serious' statement since HOMICIDE.
