Aroview: The original adaptation of Patricia Highsmith's gripping novel 'The Talented Mr Ripley', who is here embodied by a sleek Delon in only his third screen appearance.

Recruited by a worried American father to travel to Europe and retrieve his dissolute son from the temptations of the Mediterranean, Delon finally tracks him down to a yacht in southern Italy. Here he decides instead on a murderous and technically tricky plan to acquire his charge's fortune, thus revealing his true calling. Filmed in colour with an eye for brooding heat and sweat on bare skin, also boasting a creepily incongruous score by Nino Rota.
