Aroview: A well-meaning French maitre d' (Auteuil) saves a lovelorn Parisian (Garcia) from topping himself in a midnight park, before becoming unwittingly entangled with the suicide's girlfriend.

Tossing together compassion, love and farce, this verges on the overly leisurely, but remains entertaining throughout for the hangdog lucklessness of the characters and the script's devotion to the comedy of minor irritations.
