Aroview: Effective, gritty road movie about a mountain man moonshiner at war with both authorities and big-city competitors.

An unusually personal project for Mitchum, who produced, scripted, starred (along with other family members) and even wrote the theme song, this was a huge hit in the South, where it played in drive-ins for years, eventually becoming part of the cultural landscape. Still a thrill for its chase scenes and the authentic taste of hillbilly culture.
