Aroview: Set on the multicultural streets of 1960s working-class Paris, this warm-hearted tale has a Sufi grocery store owner befriend a lonely Jewish teenager, whom he catches shoplifting.
Omar Sharif puts in a sterling performance as the slightly mysterious shop-owner, whose line in Islamic mysticism opens a window for Boulanger, trapped in various family troubles. Also appealing for its loving depiction of the everyday life in one of the sunny though shabby suburbs of the chic French capital.
