Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle

aka: Harold and Kumar get the Munchies
USA 2004, 87 minutes
Dir. Danny Leiner
Rating: [R16]
Genres: Comedy / Youth

Topics: Drugs & Alcohol, Indigenous & Minority Cultures.

Aroview: An ethnic spin on the low-brow youth comedy formula from the dir. of DUDE, WHERE'S MY CAR that prays at the altar of dope and junk food.

Cast offs from hit teen comedies AMERICAN PIE and VAN WILDER, Cho and Penn relish the spotlight as the upwardly mobile Harold (Chinese-American) and Kumar (Indian-American), who like unwind on the weed. A wild, "Bill-and-Ted" style road odyssey begins when they get the 'munchies', and follow their stomachs to an obscure fast-food chain known as "White Castle". Fun in spots but derivative and unsubtle.
