Aroview: The screenwriter of SHINE, makes an earnest debut with this romantic drama set in 1950s Victoria and the attempts of two Italian-Australian brothers to settle in.

Unlucky in love, Ribisi in desperation includes a photo of his handsome brother (Garcia) to lure a luscious bride out from Italy to marry him. Matters inevitably resolve into a tense love-triangle, which is played out in a broad, well-meaning way. Gets good marks for avoiding plot contrivances and staying true to the realism of its premise.
